Liposuction And Tummy Tuck

Is liposuction the procedure for loose tummy skin? Or should I simply go for tummy tuck? What is the difference between liposuction and tummy tuck?

Liposuction and tummy tuck are closely related but are two different things. Liposuction is the procedure that sucks out your body fat. Tummy tuck is mostly done on loose skin in your belly. When tummy tuck is done, it is usually when no more fat is retained in your belly. These two go hand in hand. So many patients I know have liposuction first. Then they follow it up with a tummy tuck.

When I had my lipo done however, I did not opt for a tummy tuck but just availed of another procedure called Body tightening. It tightens your loose skin without cutting you up. There will be no extra incisions on top of those used for your lipo. If your loose skin isn't too bad, I suggest just having body tightening after lipo instead of tummy tuck. The scarring from tummy tuck is really awful. They are mostly hidden in bikini lines so they are easy to cover but hey, I look looking good naked too.
